What is considered the date of the conviction for a moving traffic violation?
Is it the day you pay the fine after a guilty plea (this could be up to 90 days after the guilty plea), the day you show up to court and plead guilty or the date the violation occured?

I have the charge section on my ticket as 3331B and have already looked at the Pennsylvania Point System Fact Sheet and this was not on there. Does that mean that this violation has no points to it? Should I still plead not guilty and go to court? or Would it just be wise to just plead guilty and pay the ticket off?

Is any1 else disturbed by the series of VolksWagon commercials that show traffic collisions & say Safehappens?
There are two different one's that I've seen so far. One with a group of 4 people chatting about crying during the movie, and WAM! they get broadsided, and the airbags come out. The other is like with two guys driving talking and they hit a red truck that enters traffic infront of their car. Both commercials end with the text showing at the end above the damaged vehicle, "SAFE HAPPENS"
What if you don’t have the money to pay the traffic fines?
This is a follow up question regarding my friend who has outstanding traffic fines in Iowa and Nebraska. He received a letter yesterday saying if he doesn't pay his fines an arrest warrant will be issued (I don't know if it was from a collection agency or what have you) He doesn't have the money to pay these fines and he actually doesn't have a license either (it was suspended because of failure to pay). The main thing I'm concerned about is that he is supposed to fly to Canada in 2 weeks to visit me....can he get arrested at the airport if there is a warrant out for his unpaid traffic tickets or can he get arrested at the airport here in Toronto when he goes through immigration. Would Canadian authorites know about this warrant?

They also bring an arrest warrant for "wiretapping" and 2 additional traffic violations. I could not go to jail due to health issues (surgery). 4/14/2010: I turned myself in and spent the night in jail. I was charged with "wiretapping." Felony- 5years $10k max fine. Bail set at $15k? 4/15/2010: Bail review - Released on my own recognizance.
Process time for posting a check for traffic citation?
I had a traffic citation on 8/11, mailed the check on 8/12. I had 15 days to respond so I figured the earlier the better.
Reasonably, when should I expect the check to be cashed by the traffic court? Do they cash it as soon as they get it? Or do they wait a couple of weeks?
Any advice from your experience, or if you work in law enforcement would be great. Thanks!
