What is the limit for a speedy trial in an Indiana traffic violation?
I was ticketed for speeding April 28th. My court date was to be June 17th. I was notified by the Bartholomew County Court that my court date had been moved to July 15th because the officer would "be on vacation". This is approximately 75 days after my accused traffic violation.
What are the speedy trial guidelines in Indiana for traffic violations?
I need to know the rules for INDIANA. All states have different rules. For example, I heard that California has a 45 day limit.

There is really not a guideline for that. Yes, you have a right to a speedy trial, but trials get continued and pushed back all the time. Even though it seems like a ridiculous reason to push back your court date, you have the right to push it back also. Right to a speedy trial is very subjective and higher courts tend to rule in favor of the court and not the defendant. Unfortunately this won’t be a reason for you to get out of your ticket and you will have to go on as planned.
EDIT: Indiana does not give you a right to a speedy trial. You have no claims. What you heard about California is not true. There are no true right to speedy trials regarding speeding tickets in the state of California.

Speedy trial doesn’t apply to Class C Misdemeanors/Traffic Court.
However, 75 days is FAST in most communities to get a case before the court.
