How do I find out if a recent traffic violation put points on my driving record?
I checked the DMV website but couldn't find any specific references to this information.

Wait for your next insurance bill.

If it was a moving violation, it did. Exception: Stuff that’s caught by a camera, because then they have no proof of who was driving the car.

Ask your insurance company. when your insurance starts up again every six months they pull your driving record and your rates will go up so you will know. sooner or later. I think it takes like 7 years to come off your record too. at least depending on what state you live in. It stinks.

Hi, follow this link:
http://www.ncdot.org/dmv/driver_services/drivershandbook/chapter3/points.html
It has the complete list of points assessed by DMV for most motor vehicle violations occurring in NC. If you do not find what you are seeking there, you should contact your local DMV office directly.
I have pasted as much infomation below as I can find.
If you are convicted of certain motor vehicle violations in North Carolina, driver license points are placed against your driving record. If you accumulate seven points, you may be assigned to a Driver Improvement Clinic. The clinic fee is $50. Upon satisfactory completion of the clinic, three points are deducted from your driving record. If you accumulate as many as twelve points within a three-year period, your license may be suspended. The accumulation of eight points within three years following the reinstatement of your license can result in a second suspension.
If your driver license is suspended by the point system, it may be taken for:
60 days for the first suspension;
6 months for the second; and
12 months for the third.
When your driving privilege is reinstated, all previous driver license points are canceled.
