What do the lawyers at someplace like Traffic Law Center do that I couldn’t do myself by going to court?
It seems like I should be able to go to my court date and do whatever it is that they do. It certainly would save money. Or I could slow down.
I am sure that they are smart individuals, and I do not doubt that it is worth the money, it just seems like they never fail to get it amended to a non moving violation. There must be something that they do. Should I just go to the court date anyway as a spectator and see what goes on?

They have legal expertise that you don’t.

They win cases. Anything in life is done better with additional practice and knowledge.
Trading money for losing a license seems like a no brainer

Theoretically, you could handle it yourself. The difference is that someone who does this for a living tends to have a better sense of the ins and outs, as well as– this is important– has a working relationship with the prosecutor. Since they work together often (even daily), the two of them are more likely to get you a better break than you would get on your own as a stranger the prosecutor will never see again.
