How do I know if I received any traffic violation points?
So I was pulled over by cop for failing to change lane properly. I received a $90 ticket, but I do not remember the cop telling me whether or not I received any points. I could not find any section on the ticket where indicate the number of points for this particular violation. I really do not want to go to the court if I did not receive any points. Is there any possible way for me to know whether I received any points? Oh by the way I live in Maryland. Thank you.

Just ask any police officer and he will help you

This is a common problem with Maryland-based traffic tickets: They have the fine, but they don’t indicate the points.
The good news is both the fine and points are standardized on the Maryland Traffic Fine Schedule that is publically available through the courts website.
The charge “Driver changing lanes when unsafe” is listed on page 36 and is a $90 and 1 point (or 3 points if an accident resulted from the violation).
